Serena Turns A Year!!!!!

On December 21st my little angel turned a year. What an exciting time of the year it was for her but more exciting for us the parents. We decided to celebrate her first birthday with her lil play dates Baron and Silus. Being out here in Idaho Falls we do not have to many friends so she got to hang with her two play dates and of course my husband and I hang out with the parents. We had some drinks and eats and serena and the boys had a blast making mess, stuffing themselves with food and just being kids. Little Baron was not able to eat because he is still a little one.  We started out the night by preparing the various dishes, chilli cheese dip, cinnamon sugar biscuit balls, barbecue  stuffed biscuit, pizzas, sodas and some doritos.
We then continued the evening with serena opening her presents. Although she could hardly get the paper wrap torn apart she was just so determined and cute to tear that paper to eat, rather than to see what is inside the package. But she does not know that deep inside the paper lied something more special. But we opened up all the gifts and enjoyed the rest of the evening talking, laughing and get serena to overcome her fear of crawling through her new gift a tunnel. Took her 2 weeks before she finally started to crawl through it. But she did it.
We then took out the cake and candle to sing happy birthday for serena. It was a fun an exciting moment. we sang happy birthday helped her blow out her candle and had her cut her birthday cake with her hands and of course she stuck her feet in it. I think first birthdays means more to the parents than the child. Of course they know nothing about that. But birthdays are big things for the parents. I'm so glad that though we had just a small get together nothing special or big, serena got to have both of her parents with her and her friends around to celebrate her first with her. What a great night it was. Memories that build on as times goes.

This is Serena opening her presents.

Serena Birthday cake. The big one. Growing so fast.

Serena's birthday cake. A princess cake for my lil princess.

It's time for Serena to blow out her cake.. Yay!!

Serena's just cut her birthday cake with her hand.

Now it's time for birthday girl to taste her cake and enjoy.

I had to change her pretty bday outfit before she got into her cake.

She finally gets to eat her cake and enjoy.yummy!!

See her little tunnel behind her. Took her 2 weeks to get use to it.

Look at her dirty face from eating. Had to switch her clothes for that too.

What a messy lil girl, but still so cute..

My lil serena is the cutiest, most fun little girl ever. She has a great personality that shines even as a baby. She makes you laugh when you are around her and always smiles no matter what it is. She is just a bundle of joy. The love of our life.
